Stepping out of my comfort zone has been the biggest challenge for me, into a foreign world with new ideas and concepts. Conversing with people who have been in the industry for years and know how to play the game, has helped me make this step. It has been a bit daunting and almost intimidating, and to say the least it has been a struggle to fully believe that my ideas, concepts and products are worth integrating and introducing into the working environment. The IVC Malta course has changed my perception of an entire industry and life style. By embracing all the difficulties, doubts and preconceptions, and making it something that can be overcome. Putting that one-foot in front of the other, and not letting anything bring you down. What I would recommend to other young entrepreneurs like myself is, we have nothing holding us back, and there is no difference between my ability and yours. There is only innovation!

In the beginning I thought it would be fairly easy, but then I discovered that there was a different side to it. I never thought it would be so difficult to adapt to the new working environment as well as adapting to my co-workers. This is something I learnt how to tackle throughout my learning experience with IVC Malta. The course has taught me valuable lessons that I will carry with me in my future business life. This was done through helpful assistance from a whole team, who are there to support you when you feel lost or puzzled. So looking at the full experience IVCM has provided me with, I would defiantly recommend the programme to other young future entrepreneurs, who are eager to take on the challenge of being an entrepreneur. Personally, the entrepreneurial projects do work for me, as they have challenged me. They give you an experience in a different area that you yourself normally wouldn’t go into in the beginning. And the fact that it gives you a lot of first-hand experience, in the actual implementation of an idea.

How do I feel about this course? My only and honest reply to that would be: LUCKY! Following University I spent a year helping my father with his own business and this, together with Dad’s many advices made me aspire to have my own business. I have learnt so much during these months! However this knowledge is not just written down on papers at home or reproduced through what our lecturers have shared with us. We have practiced the skills, and learnt from the mistakes that have been made before by others. One of the most essential things that IVC has help me with is the increase in confidence – yes, we helped to step out of that lovely comfort zone in many ways and indeed we have all improved in some aspect because of this. In my case, my confidence is starting to take better shape! One phrase that has been repeated to us at school many times is “don't limit yourself”.This piece of advice has pushed us at school to do things we always thought we could not. I would recommend young entrepreneurs to take note of this, not limiting themselves because of age, belief in their capabilities among other things.
